February 21, with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill will be brought to Minsk icon of Jesus Christ with a piece of the crown of thorns. This is the official portal of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
Permanent seat of the crown of thorns is the Notre Dame Cathedral (Paris, France).
9:45 relic will arrive at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk. Solemn meeting of the icon will be headed by Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Pavel, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
On February 21 (12:00) until 24 February (16:00) shrine will be available for veneration by the faithful in the Holy Spirit Cathedral.
February 24th at 16:30 with the particle image of the Savior Thorns will be brought to the Alexander Nevski temple of the city of Minsk, where it will be available for veneration by the faithful until March 20 (12:30).
On March 20 (16:00) until 27 April (12:00) shrine will stay in the Nativity of the Mother of Grodno female monastery.
From 27 April (14:00) to June 9 (13:30) The Lord Jesus Christ, the icon will be in Assumption Zhirovichi Monastery, after which will leave for Moscow.
Crown of Thorns Savior is the main Christian shrine in Paris.
According to the Gospel, the Crown of Thorns was the instrument of the Passion of Christ. The Roman soldiers, to strengthen the suffering of Christ, "platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head" (John 19: 1-2.).
On Thorns mention pilgrims IV-IX centuries, visited Jerusalem. Subsequently, the precious relic was transferred to Constantinople - the capital of the Byzantine Empire.
In 1204 the Crusaders sacked Constantinople, and a crown of thorns along with other sacred objects were exported to the West. In 1238, the crown of the king of France bought Saint Louis IX.
